Building a Digital Presence to Match an Established Business
This family-run double glazing company supplies and installs windows, doors, conservatories and related products for homeowners, trade customers and commercial organisations.
The business had built a strong reputation through decades of successful work. Its website, however, wasn’t generating the level of visibility or enquiries that its experience should have supported.
Most new business still came through recommendations, local advertising and existing relationships. The opportunity was to make search a more dependable source of growth.
What began as a traditional SEO campaign has since developed to include visibility within Google’s AI features and other AI-led search platforms.

The Challenge
The company had a broad product range, experienced teams and a strong reputation within its market. Yet the website wasn’t communicating those strengths effectively to either search engines or potential customers.
Important services had limited organic visibility. Content for homeowners, trade buyers and commercial organisations overlapped, making it harder for Google to understand which pages should appear for different searches.
The website also lacked detailed answers to many of the questions customers ask when researching windows, doors and home improvements.
As search behaviour began to change, this created another challenge. The business needed content that could perform in standard Google results while also being understood, summarised and cited by AI search platforms.

The SEO Strategy
The campaign was built around the way people now research products and suppliers. This includes standard Google searches, local results, AI-generated answers and longer conversational questions.
Technical Performance
We reviewed crawling, indexing, internal links and page performance to give the website a stronger technical foundation.
Search-Led Structure
Products, services and customer types were reorganised into clearer sections with their own search purpose.
Commercial Content
Core pages were expanded and optimised around searches with a clear link to enquiries and purchasing decisions.
Helpful Answers
We created content around real customer questions, comparisons, costs, product choices and installation concerns.
Authority Signals
Relevant links, citations, reviews and external mentions were developed to reinforce the company’s experience and credibility.
AI Search Optimisation
Content was structured so that search engines and AI platforms could identify clear answers, services, locations and evidence of expertise.
Website structure
Making a Complex Range Easier to Understand.
The company serves several types of customer across a wide range of products. That had led to a website where topics and audiences weren’t always clearly separated.
We reorganised the content around distinct customer needs. Homeowners could reach relevant product and installation information, while trade and commercial visitors had clearer routes to their own services.
Individual pages were given a defined search purpose. This reduced overlap and helped Google understand which page was most relevant to each query.
The improved structure also supports AI search. Clear relationships between products, services, locations and customer types make it easier for AI platforms to interpret the business and retrieve the right information.

Content built around customer decisions
Answering the Questions That Influence Enquiries
Customers rarely search for a supplier immediately. They compare materials, products, prices, performance and installation options before deciding who to contact.
We developed content that supports those decisions. Service pages were strengthened with practical information, while supporting articles answered more detailed questions around windows, doors, glazing and home improvements.
This created more opportunities to appear during the customer’s research journey, not just at its final stage.
It also made the website more useful to AI search platforms. Clear questions, direct answers and supporting detail give these systems stronger material to cite when producing responses.
Expanding into AI search
Preparing the Business for a New Search Landscape.
Search results are no longer limited to a list of traditional website links. Customers can now receive detailed answers through Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and platforms such as ChatGPT.
We expanded the campaign to monitor how the company appeared across these results. This included reviewing the questions that prompted AI recommendations, which businesses were mentioned and which third-party sources were being used as citations.
The findings helped shape new content priorities. They also highlighted the importance of information beyond the company’s own website, including trusted directories, review platforms, relevant publications and local sources.
This work gives the business a clearer view of its visibility across both traditional and AI-led search.

The Results

From Limited Visibility to Sustained Search Growth
The initial campaign produced significant results within its first three months.
Google search impressions increased from 18,100 to 69,000 year on year, representing growth of more than 281%.
Organic clicks rose from 320 to 664 during the same comparison period. That was an increase of more than 108%, showing that greater visibility was translating into real visits to the website.
Overall search visibility increased by almost 45%. The average Google ranking also improved by more than ten positions.
Organic traffic more than doubled, while the website generated substantially more leads and enquiries. Search was no longer simply supporting awareness. It had become an important part of the company’s lead-generation activity.
The campaign has since moved beyond traditional rankings. Ongoing AI search monitoring now helps identify new content, citation and authority opportunities as customer behaviour continues to change.
Why it worked
Growth Came From Connecting the Whole Search Journey.
The campaign succeeded because it addressed more than rankings.
Technical work improved how the website could be crawled and understood. A clearer structure gave products and customer groups their own place. More useful content helped the company reach people while they were researching their options.
Authority building strengthened the signals surrounding the business, while conversion improvements made it easier for visitors to take the next step.
Adding AI search monitoring has extended that approach. We can now assess not only where the company ranks, but also when it is mentioned, recommended or supported by cited sources within AI-generated results.
This creates a broader view of search performance and helps the campaign adapt as the way people find businesses continues to change.
Client feedback
A Collaborative, Long-Term SEO Partnership.
The company reported that its website traffic had doubled within the opening months of the campaign. Its directors also highlighted the knowledge, professionalism and commitment brought to the work.
The relationship has continued beyond the initial period of growth. SEO priorities, content opportunities and changes in search behaviour are regularly reviewed so that the campaign can keep moving forward.
