Rebecca Mayhew - Founder Go Ape
Paul spent nearly four years leading the Go Ape Marketing team where he took on the role of Head of Marketing and latterly Marketing Director (Designate). Paul was also a member of the Go Ape Management Board responsible for managing the day to day operations of the business and delivering the strategy as directed by the Board of Directors.
During this time Paul increased the marketing team from 4 to 10 building an in house skill set particularly with digital skills in line with business requirements. This led to less reliance on external agencies bringing areas such as SEO and content marketing in-house as well as reducing costs.
Paul is an experienced negotiator and he consistently reduced costs and improved the quality of purchased goods and services from suppliers including printers, memberships and associations as well as creative agencies. He improved revenues across a number of key areas of the business including partnerships and Gift Voucher sales – the latter of which increased from sales of £815,000 in 2013 to nearly £2 million in 2016.
Paul helped to create and develop the Air Space brand which Go Ape launched in December 2014. With the Marketing Manager he successfully launched multiple sites into highly competitive marketplaces and was part of the senior management team that built a business with three Air Space trampoline parks and 500k + customers a year.
Paul has a broad skill set and is as happy looking at the marketing strategy across the entire marketing mix including the more traditional elements of leafleting and outdoor as he is managing technical website builds and improving ROI across social channels. He has a great attitude and enthusiasm for all things marketing with a commitment to getting the job done. Paul is currently providing marketing consultancy and managing the marketing function for our other business Air Space trampoline parks.
